This is one litter box we don't mind cleaning out!

Having cats isn't all sunshine and rainbows. It's being woken up by the sound of a lamp crashing to the floor at 2 AM, it's constantly sweeping up cat litter and yelling "Don't eat that trash!" from across the room. The worst part, though, is cleaning their litter box. It's the closest thing we have that connects us to dog people, and we don't understand how they do with their bare hands every day. But there is one litter box that we don't mind cleaning out, especially on the weekends, and that is the litter box of laughs.

This one doesn't smell at all, in fact, it has an adorable aroma of hissterical giggles and the finest feline funnies on this side of the internet. We've got memes, tweets, threads, and pics aplenty to keep your cat-centered brain engaged and feline pawsitive all weekend! We hope that pawsitivity will last all the way through Meownday, but we can only do so much. We may be self-proclaimed meme wizards, but that doesn't make us meowgicians.

But in all seriousness, we love ending our weekends with a wholesome scroll of some purely funny cats. It's a way for us to rest and reset before we start yet another work week. It's our little pocket of joy that helps us stay sane in this crazy world we live in. It's healthy to have something to help you escape, and cats seem like a pretty harmless one to us, all things considered. So enjoy these silly slides of funny felines and we wish you a purrfectly pawsitive end of your weekend!

Bonded pairs of cats should never be separated.

People who say that cats are solitary creatures who don't feel the need to bond with anyone don't even know how wrong they are. When cats bond with someone, they bond hard. It could be us that they bond with. Cats love their humans in ways that words could never express, but their actions show it. Or it could be cats bonding with other animals, specifically other cats. In fact, such bonds are common enough that the internet has given them a name: bonded pairs.

Bonded pairs of cats are something special. They are connected with one another on levels that we could probably never understand. But we see it - when they are together, they thrive, and when they are not, they are lethargic, sad and irritable. They need each other. And it is our duty to make sure that they stick together. Some shelters even go as far as to reject applications to adopt if the adopter is looking to separate one bonded kitty from another, even if it means that both cats stay in the shelter longer. Because it's better to be in the shelter together than anywhere else apart.

Unless you've been living under a totally unfashionable rock, you are well aware that gray is one of the hottest trends in Trendville right now.

By Yummy Cupcakes and Cakes

Less harsh than black, more ketchup-friendly than white, it's everywhere in the worlds of fashion, saucy literature, and decor. And of course...

By Wild Orchid Bakery

...Cake! This one combines two hot and happening trends: gray and ombre. Plus polka-dots, which will never go out of style.

Let's hope gray doesn't, either, because pretty much my entire house is painted gray. Some people might think that sounds depressing, but just look at this cake:

By Charm City Cakes West  Inspired by Nevie-Pie Cakes

Depressing? I think not! Gray is the perfect backdrop for a pop of color, which I love, unlike the phrase "pop of color" which, ugh.

But don't worry, colorphobes, gray and white make a fine duo, too.

By Bee's Cake Design

Sophisticated, simple and sublime.

And just think how much detail would have been lost on this cake if it had been white instead of gray.

By Cotton and Crumbs

Would we have even noticed the lacy border? The delicate butterflies? Gray deserves an award for best supporting hue.

BUT! Gray ain't afraid to steal the spotlight.
"This girl belongs on a runway," was my first thought when I saw this cake.

By Karla

Then I learned that it was modeled after a Vera Wang gown, and I felt totally smart and stylish for a second. Then I looked down at my ensemble of mismatched sweats and slowly lowered my hands from their 'raise the roof' position.

But can I get a "holla" for these cakes?

By Erica OBrien

So sweet and modern at the same time. I just love gray and pink together, and that little cluster of roses in the center, too.

I'm also loving the color scheme on this cake. Freaking adorable. Seriously considering turning it into an accessory somehow.

By Bobbette and Belle

Cake hat? Cake purse? Cake belt buckle? I'll keep thinking.

And here's another one I just want to tear apart and wear!

By Three Little Blackbirds Cakes

Once again, gray adds texture and interest while letting the color shine. Gray: the nicest of neutrals.
That should be its official motto.

But why am I trying to convert you to the Church of Gray? You're probably already a card carrying member.

By Sugar Couture

And if you weren't before, you are now, because WOWZERS. And the little touches of metallics? Swoonballoons.

There is so much awesome happening on this cake, but I think the gray tier is still my favorite.

By Gateaux Inc.

I mean, it even matches the reception hall!

And here's one last gray-hued beauty for our grand finale:

By Over the Top Cakes

Isn't it great how all the ribbon and fabric look like actual ribbon and fabric? Just amazing.

I sure hope you enjoyed today's gorgeous gray gateaux and that your Sunday is especially sweet!

******

P.S. I was browsing "gray whale" things to link today - because whales are awesome -but then this blue whale butter dish popped up and it's so stinkin' cute you get it instead:

Sometimes cats enter a full house, and that's no less wholesome than them being your first pets.

You see, adopting your first cat can happen in a multitude of ways. Whether it's a childhood cat, a weird case of finding a cat in an unexpected place (usually the courtesy of the Cat Distribution System), or planning on adopting a cute little fluffball to add to your domestic zoo of pets you have at home. But sometimes it's a surprising, unexpected CDS delivery, even if you're a self-declared dog person.

This one woman already has two dogs - and that's got to be a handful. Two doggos running the show, borking and wagging, excited and happy. But then a neighbor alerts her that, hey, you have a crying kitten under your tire! She might be a dog person, but it doesn't mean she's going to skip helping a purrfect little void in need. And, you know what? We're so proud of her. We're all cat people here, but we have a very special corner in our hearts dedicated to non-cat people who still lend a hand, give from themselves to help a cat, and maybe even turn into a cat person in the process.

Cats love to play the "cool and disconnected" character, but deep down, we know that they're all secretly derpy divas. It's our job as cat owners to reveal their inner truth for the whole internet to see!

We're convinced that cameras were invented for the sole purrpose of exposing cats' true nature. We know that there are lots of other things to take pictures of, but literally none of them interest us except for cats. And if you're reading this too, we think there's a good chance that you probably agree with us. And since the invention of cameras, people have been taking pictures of their cats (amongst other things, of course). Since then, cat lovers have been on a purrsonal vendetta to show people that cats aren't as cool, calm, and collected as they like to be purrceived as.

What do you think of when you think of cats? You think of sleek, fluffy creatures that always land on their feetsies. Of cute creatures that nap all day, swat at you if you pet them too many times, and are hesitant around other hoomans. But, cats are quite the opposite! They're actually the silliest creatures we let live in our houses, and these purrfectly documented pics below are our proof.

The immaculate images below show felines fully embracing the derp within, and believe us, they have more derp inside than you could ever imagine. If we had to give you one example, it would be that we've caught our cat trying to chew on the hanging metal switch on our lamp than we can count. It's not edible, nor is it remotely tasty (we tried). And yet, it's still their furvorite pastime.

This is just one of many things we can tell you, but it's easier to show you, which is why we've collected all these hilariously funny felines caught on camera. They can't hide it anymore, these purrfect pictures are furrever immortalized on the internet, and now their secret it out. We only hope we don't come home to find something in all of our shoes when we get home.

In a world full of seriousness and chaos, what we need is a serving of pure silly nonsense.

We really do mean that. We are the kind of people who try to find joy in the little things. And although some days it is harder than other days, we still make an effort. And we make an effort to bring that joy to you as well. Of course, you might find that joy in friends, in family, in doing your favorite activities and working on your hobbies, but these things are not always available right away. What is always right there for us though - the one thing that never fails to make us smile - are hilarious cat memes.

All it takes for a frown to be turned upside down is a few minutes of scrolling through silly cat memes. Or at least, that is how it works for us. It's why we keep collecting these funny cat memes for all of you guys. Because we love knowing that we're helping bring you the thing that will make you smile. And also because we just love doing it. Hey, we're allowed to get two birds with one stone, right?

You can't have your cake and eat it too, but you can have these cat memes.

This English proverb didn't gain popular recognition for nothing. The proverb literally means "you cannot simultaneously retain possession of a cake and eat it, too". If the cake is eaten, then it's gone. There's no going back. You can't have two incompatible things at once, or at least you should try not to have them. You can't have the best of both worlds, you have to give up something for something else. But let's talk about actual cake. Being a baker and cake designer is a life filled with flour, dust, and imagination. Colors and sticky frostings surround you as you wake up before the sun where the kitchen is quiet and everything feels silly already. There's something so comforting about measuring ingredients and slowly cracking eggs one at a time into a bowl. The level of precision is immaculate, and it's both a science, an art, and an expression.

Bakers learn patience, dough needs time to rise, and cakes need cooling. You can also put cats on cakes! There's no saying you can't. And if you have one cat, you don't have to listen to the above proverb. You can have your cat, your cake, and eat whatever you please. Meaning you can have your cat, cake, and still lazily scroll funny cat memes for the weekend (or work week). Enjoy these silly cat memes for the whole family.

Hello….is there anybody in there? Just not if you can see me…is there anyone home?

Pink Floyd, anyone? Have you ever felt like you were present, but not? You're looking at someone, maybe even talking, but then you're also somewhere else entirely. Where is that place? Well, maybe it's some dissociated part of you, a lost memory, an image you saw once that your brain fixated on and drips into your consciousness at some inopportune time, forcing you into a deep contrition for saying, "what?" five times when someone asks you what you want to order. Pink Floyd's 1979 Comfortably Numb resonates with dissociation in that it evokes a detached, yet vulnerable voice that sounds just like it's floating in space, and the other side of bombastic guitar work and orchestration that feels like the song is simultaneously rapaciously extending for something else. The contrast gives the track emotional power. It's dreamlike, haunting, and also powerful.

And dissociation? It's the same – like you're detached from oneself, experiencing everything as if you're a third party watching. Floating maybe, transcended from reality, or lost in your own dream. And sometimes we look at our cats, and they look completely lost. "Not again," you think as you pet them with their sprawled eye contact, their empty countenance, and their absolute torpor. That's why this hilarious collection of dissociated cat memes lost in the cosmos is purrfect for silly weekend scrolls. Enjoy!

Meow yourself into the weekend chill - Caturday is here!

When the Earth rotates and changes the date from Friday to Saturday, all cat pawrents know one thing - they're going to have a much better weekend than all the rest. It's not just a regular Saturday, where after a whole week of work, you're just happy to be off work - meaning, you still think about work. It's a much more special day, because you're about to spend it all with your cat. And that, friends, is what makes a Caturday. So we're always happy that Caturday comes around - because it means a lot more cat time!

Cuddling with your cat, playing with your cat, petting your cat, giving treats to your cat and seeing how happy they are - all these cat activities are multiplied during Caturday, and that means the happiness bar becomes so high it breaks the roof. There's nothing happier than being with a cat, with no other worry in your head. And what better way is there to do that, if not on a Caturday? So grab your cat, get comfy, and enjoy some cat quality time sparkled with cat memes.

Even the most adored man in the world, the "heavenly sovereign", understood there's a being much higher than him - his cat.

It's a truth shared by all cat pawrents, and our status, stature, and financial situation don't matter in acknowledging that cats are superior to us. Since the domestication of cats (or, rather, the human domestication done by cats), people saw something in them that they didn't see in other animals. Sure, dogs are loyal companions and generally cute, and yeah, birds are beautiful, but cats are something different. They don't need to demand respect to get it. It's as if they have an aura that meowgically makes everyone around them revere their feline fabulousness - even the Japanese emperor.

Cats are literally the kings and queens of our lives, which makes them sort of emperors themselves. They govern the living room, rule the bed and all comfy places around the house, and collect the treat and pet tax with meowing might. They are sovereign over their domestic kingdoms with an iron paw. And us? As humans, we're mere peasants in their world. Cats rule our lives, and we're happy to serve.

Yes, I’ve been on a bit of a tear recently as far as covers go, but let’s just say I had a bit of a backlog from when I was writing the novel. Now that it’s been cleared off the table I have a little time to do this sort of thing. This is currently how I do my “me” time. It’s this or setting fire to things.

This song is one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite bands, and I had been meaning to get to it for a bit. Also for this one I had a technical project of trying to nail the vocal balance, which is for me the trickiest part of doing any of this. I think I did pretty decent job sitting it into the mix this time around. It’s fun to still be learning things.

Enjoy!
